Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers
The Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC) is a nationwide federally funded program by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The focus of this program is to assist businesses with understanding the government procurement process and practices. Their goal is to improve competitiveness and business development capabilities through strategic marketing, research and contacts. They also help to identify, secure, maintain and ultimately help grow current government contracts and future awards. There are more than 300 local Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) throughout the country. The Minnesota branch extends its services and support to all Minnesota based businesses.
The team at IKONICS AMS participates in ongoing training and courses through the PTAC Minnesota branch. Most recently, Wes Barton, Senior Application & Sales Specialist, completed a course on Foundations in Contracting, which covered topics such as the basics of government contracting, getting started in the government market, how to research and target your market, and more.
